A Pet Supply Revolution

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, new pet ownership more than doubled, causing a sudden demand for pet supplies. Pet parents were forced to shop online for their pets food and supplies due to long lines at major pet retailers. As a result, Insta-Pet originated as an online pet supplies retailer in the Summer of 2020.
A decade earlier, Pet Food Brand Specialist Ray Culpepper previously owned and operated Pet Foods of America, an Atlanta-based online pet food company, from his residence. But with rising gas prices and decreasing online sales at that time, Ray eventually decided to shut down his online venture after 4 years. Yet, in the Spring of 2016, Ray accepted a full-time position as a Field Support Manager and Territory Manager for Boulder, Colorado-based pet product manufacturer Only Natural Pet (ONP).
During his tenure there, Ray received extensive on-the-job and product knowledge training from a certified holistic veterinarian, brand experts, and in-house product trainers. Now certified in holistic, paleo-inspired, raw food diets, Ray returned to Georgia to promote the ONP brand throughout the southeast at all PetSmart locations. Within two years, PetSmart, the world’s leading pet retailer, acquired the company, thus leaving Ray with the task of overseeing their entire line of Proprietary Brands (ie Authority, Simply Nourish, Only Natural Pet, Dentleys, etc.).
Unfortunately, in the Winter of 2021, PetSmart decided to disband their Proprietary Brand Field Sales division, spawning Ray to return to setting up his own pet retail shop again, but this time with a physical storefront location. In 2023, Ray secured a prime retail space in Smyrna, GA. Already familiar with the area, Ray believed this pet-friendly, vibrant, and diverse neighborhood would be the perfect location for his first retail shop in the metro Atlanta area. And now the rest is history.
